Formally Sneak-a-Peek-at-Your-Seat, happens the week before school starts. Its an opportunity for students to see their classrooms, lockers, desks, and meet their teachers! In an open house style parents and kids can come to Warren anytime between 2:30-3:30 and check out their new spaces for the year!
Back to School Night is a common event in schools around the US. This event takes place in the first few weeks of school. It is a chance for parents and guardians to hear from their student's teacher about the curriculum, events, and subjects that will be covered over the year. Its also a great time to ask questions of the teachers and staff at Warren.
Occurring near the end of October, this event allows for students of Warren to show off their Halloween costumes to their teachers and friends!
Family members of Warren students volunteer to participate and drive their decorated vehicles into the parking lot on the playground side of the school. They set up their Halloween or themed decorations to create a kind of diorama in their trunks. Students return in costume to the school with their chaperones to trick or treat from trunk to trunk in the parking lot. At the same time, teacher volunteers open their outer doors and hand out candy to the students who trick or treat around the outside of the building. Teachers hand out candy donated to Warren by the students' parents/guardians.
This year's date is set for October 25th
Read-a-thon is a big fundraiser for our school AND it encourages lots of reading from our students (a win-win!). A great community builder and way to promote literacy, the read-a-thon takes place in the fall each year. Students track their minutes reading and get sponsors (usually family members and friends or local businesses) to support their fundraising and reading.
This year the Read-a-thon will take place in November
Everyone loves when the Scholastic Book Fair comes to Warren! Sponsored by the school librarian, this event allows the students of Warren to purchase books during Library time. A portion of all the book sales goes to Warren. There's even an online store option for families at home!
Another great Warren tradition that returned in live form for the Spring of 2022. Organized and sponsored by Mr. Dyke, Play Days are like field days for each grade at Warren. Parent volunteers guide a group of students through a tour of fun games and competitions. Finish off with a cup of Kona Ice!
A beloved Warren tradition that we might be able to have live again this year, Pizza Bingo night is a rowdy competition for families in the community. During recent years, this event has taken place on line and its paired with a Seasons Pizza fundraisher. Families would get their pizza and log on to play Bingo (Cards provided by the PTA at school).
Zoom or Live, get ready to chant "Same Card! Same Card!"
This years date is set for January 31st
Spring Fest returned to a live event in 2022 and we're excited to start planning for this event in April of 2023.
An event for the whole community, Spring Fest is a carnival like day held on the school grounds on a weekend. There are games, prizes, entertainment, food trucks, and more!
This years date is set for April 26th!
